It is my great honour to represent Canada as an ambassador to these 2 countries in Africa, a continent with which Canada is proud to work in a partnership in order to build a better future for all. The two countries collaborate in international and multilateral bodies and organizations such as the United Nations, La Francophonie and the African Development Bank.
Mutually beneficial trade and investment relations between our countries have continued to intensify, although they aspire to greater diversification. Beyond the mining sector, Canada is a major partner in infrastructure, clean technology, renewable energy, education, organic agriculture to name a few.
We are also working to strengthen our trade and investment relations with Liberia. This cooperation aims to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 5 on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
Canada proudly works to improve the living conditions of the poorest and most vulnerable people. I look forward to continuing to strengthen this relationship between our countries.
