In her address to the Class of , Chancellor Griffin remarked on her pride in the University and praised the graduates for their resilience and commitment to excellence throughout their education. You have dealt with a pandemic, political unrest in neighbouring countries, and your own personal challenges. Amid the uncertainty, you carried on, and through it all, you showed an exceptional capacity to learn. You all have people who have helped you achieve your goal of being at this convocation here today, but it is actually your own effort that got you across the finish line.
Special guests included H. Valedictorian Omar Ebrahim, who graduated from the Faculty of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, delivered an inspiring address to his fellow graduates, families, and friends. While the journey ahead for a lot of us is unknown, it is the beauty within the attempt that will allow us to keep going despite any roadblocks.
It is possible along the way that we fail and that will be the result of trying something new. But, if the faith in ourselves is always stronger than our fear, then we are going to be destined for things beyond our wildest imaginations.
