Train and encourage staff in the delivery of quality public service with emphasis on current trends. Develops and maintains community relationships to enhance library services to users of all ages and abilities.
Plans, implements, and directs innovative, diverse, and collaborative programs and services for adults in conjunction with the Adult Services team.
Manages the Adult Service budgets and all departmental purchasing decisions. Sets, interprets, and upholds departmental goals and objectives, policies and procedures. Directs collection development; guides and trains fellow staff in selection guidelines and budget allocation; leads ongoing collection maintenance and weeding. Provides general and in-depth reference services at the public service desk. Compiles statistics on attendance of all programs throughout the year, including summer reading, for the annual state report.
Conducts outcome measures to gauge program impact. Action-oriented: takes on new opportunities, anticipates challenges, and provides proactive solutions with a sense of urgency, energy, and enthusiasm. Attends professional library conferences, webinars, seminars, and network committees; reads professional literature; attends and contributes to library staff meetings; represents the Library at City meetings.
