Marina โ A jury convicted Daniel Lorenzo Petty, 23, of first-degree murder with enhancements for torture and lying in wait after he met his victim through a Craigslist personal ad before shooting, stabbing and clubbing the year-old man. The detective searched data relating to cellphone towers, phone calls, email accounts and Craigslist information and enlisted the help of the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team and Western Regional Information Network, a multistate agency that facilitates electronic information sharing and data analysis.
Email records showed the victim, who had met Petty about three times prior, agreed to meet Petty at a supermarket in Marina that day. Police arrested Petty on Dec. Minnig and Lt. Mike Bruno interviewed Petty and he initially claimed he had met the victim for sex Dec.
