Flatrock campground is situated on Hords Creek Lake with nice shade from trees, a fishing dock and gravel swimming areas for beating the Texas heat. More than 50 campsites have water and electric hookups - ten of which have sewer hookups.
Seven group shelters are available for day use. The swim beach, open to all overnight campers, is in Flatrock Park in area 1. Boat ramps, fishing piers are additional amenities at the park.
Due to low lake levels there are no designated swim beaches at Hords Creek Lake. Fishing pier at Friendship Day Use is under repair due to storm damages. All additional vehicles do not have to pay an entrance fee but are required to park at the office outside the park gates. All vehicles must be operated in complaince with State laws; vehicles must have a current registration and inspection sticker.
Due to low lake levels: Hord's Creek Lake is currently a no-wake lake. Boaters may only use idle speed and Jet-Ski's are not permitted. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. Dispose of unwanted bait, worms, fish parts, or other organisms into the trash and not into the environment. Gently rolling hills covered with live oaks make Hords Creek Lake a beautiful getaway, despite the sometimes unbearable heat.
Circle the lake to cruise through neighboring Friendship Park and Lakeside Park. For a dose of city conveniences, head to Coleman, just eight miles east of the lake.
