But for one of its performers, an upcoming stop in La Jolla is particularly meaningful. In seventh grade, I joined cross country, which was terrible because I soon learned that I hate running. I love sports but I hated running. But if I joined the choir, I only had to go to half the cross country meets. I loved the community I joined and the music I was making. As I got older, I got more and more into it. In my senior year, we became a capella and did pieces by Pentatonix [an a capella performing group] and I joined church choirs and professional choirs.
I think singing brings people together and I would encourage anyone to try it. Music is one of the greatest ways we have to express what is in the soul. Delgado took that passion to Princeton in New Jersey, where in his freshman year he joined the Tigertones.
We love to have people snap, clap and dance when we perform. We bring that emotion and fun energy to our performances. Delgado said the Tigertones were the second a capella group founded at Princeton.
A few years later … we were sounding as good if not better than the other group because of our approach of connecting with the audience and connecting to each other.
Our soloists will do different things. So I know La Jolla better than I know my own neighborhood. I feel like I grew up in La Jolla. Also during the time in San Diego, the Tigertones will hold some private concerts at schools and senior-living facilities, along with one public concert tentatively planned for Saturday, March 15, at St.
