I spent four and a half years in HMP Dartmoor, and I met loads of normal, approachable, nicest people you could come across who had been convicted of sexual offences but also of murder, attempted murder, GBH, ABH, etc. People should not be judged by their offences but be judged on what type of person they are, and also how they treat you.

What do our community offender managers think we should be doing? It makes no sense. Would there be this sort of license condition for someone convicted of murder, GBH, or terrorist offences? So, would they not be able to contact other people convicted of these offences, for example? So, to everyone who thinks all sex offenders are predators and monsters, think again.
Some of them are innocent people and the nicest people you would ever meet. My daughter is in prison after being sentenced for 6 years at the age of 21 for a relationship with a 14 year old boy. There was so much pertinent evidence not given to the jury and everything else was circumstantial so basically she was fighting a losing battle.
