Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and should be academically, physically, and emotionally capable of meeting the essential tasks of the chosen program. Completion of a high school diploma or GED may be required for some programs. Programs are filled on a first come, first served basis, with the exception of Practical Nursing. FMTC is a public postsecondary institution that accepts applications on a non-discriminatory basis from anyone having the interest, ability, and desire to benefit from career and technical education programs.
To assist students in meeting their goals, there are minimum age, educational, and health requirements established for each program. According to the HEA Sec. FMTC does not require vaccinations for general admission to career certificate programs with the exception of health science programs; students applying for Medical Assisting, Nursing Assistant Articulated , and Practical Nursing are required to have a Flu vaccine. FMTC is concerned about the health and well-being of all students, though.
