For years my livelihood revolved around working with the land and its rhythms which brought me a profound sense of well-being and health.
Farming opened my eyes, and heart, to the importance of working with natural rhythms. East Asian Medicine helps me to bring this understanding into the clinic. By aligning ourselves to the ebb and flows of nature we can maintain health. My goal is to help you do just that. I have found East Asian Medicine acupuncture, herbs, exercise, nutrition, and qi gong to provide a map for working holistically with almost every ailment. My special areas of interest are pain management and stress relief.
Throughout the world, acupuncture is recognized as an effective way of treating pain. The first times I received acupuncture were to treat back spasms. I woke up one morning in pain and was barely able to move. Not knowing what else to do, and because I didn't want medication, I called the local acupuncturist.
Within a few visits my pain was gone, and I was back to work. Time and time again I see acupuncture help people with mild to severe pain in the back, knees, ankles, elbows, hands, necks, shoulders, and head. There is a growing body of evidence in modern medicine to support what we have known in Chinese medicine for thousands of years that stress wreaks havoc on the body. We are exposed to stress on a regular basis.
This causes certain responses in the body that get in the way of our body's own healing ability. Acupuncture, herbs, massage and nutritional guidance can help to reduce the stress response, allowing the body to bathe in the rejuvenating qualities of the relaxation hormones that lead to healing. In the terms of East Asian Medicine, we smooth the flow of qi and calm the spirit shen. Relieving stress can often help with several symptoms such as insomnia, pain, nausea, dizziness, depression, fatigue, headaches, heart palpitations, and digestive issues to name a few.
