NICOSIA AFP — A year-old Cypriot landed himself in hot water yesterday after trying to buy sexual services from a prostitute with two counterfeit 20 Cyprus pound notes 34 euros he designed on his home computer, police said.
The illicit transaction failed when the eagle-eyed prostitute became suspicious about the currency offered to her. During questioning, the resourceful teenager made a voluntary statement admitting that he had forged the notes on his home computer with the aim of buying sex with a prostitute.
But the hapless Cypriot now faces serious charges of manufacturing and distributing forged pound notes and attempting to secure services under false pretenses.
