Exchanges of youth people around democracy, sport and education through the Youth Democracy Project. The municipality of La Courneuve is able to welcome a large group of young people, as they own a castle in the surroundings of Paris.
Through this project, we are also looking for multilateral exchanges with other European YMC. Our non-profit organization will be the coordinator of the project. This project will be entirely funded within the Youth in Action Program and grant funding from our municipality. It will last from July to December Groups of 3 youngsters from both municipalities will choose European areas for days benchmarking visits places where YMC are particularly relevant and active.
Videos will be made to enable further discussion between both YMCs. Youngsters, meeting local politicians and local YMC, will identify ideas and best practices. Then, we will organize a visit of our youngsters in the bilateral partner country. YMCs will meet each other, review videos and discuss with local politicians.
Both French and our bilateral partner politicians will ask YMCs to think about specific topics and to follow-up specific commitments. A peer mentoring assessment will be organized between both YMC. Young people will share methodologies, and ideas in education, leisure, sport policies, and pay a particular attention to the political context crisis. Then, we will have again two benchmarking visits with 3 youngsters and 1 adult for both municipalities.
A second visit in France will welcome our bilateral partner to meet again our YMC and exchange around the second benchmarking visits. The aim is to present the project and the conclusions drawn through the project to a larger community of young people in both country.
