Sir Tim Laurence is understood to have sustained a suspected torn ligament and is undergoing treatment in the UK, according to Hello! The Princess Royal will therefore make the visit by herself, starting with a cause close to her heart - the South African Riding for the Disabled Association.
The Princess Royal became patron of the association in and has been president since March But the year-old's visit to the organisation will be the first time in more than 30 years, with the royal having last visited in November Princess Anne, a former Olympic equestrian competitor, will watch riders be put through their paces at the Cape Town facility that's spawned six gold, two silver and four bronze Paralympic medals over the years.
The Princess Royal will then visit the British high commission residence garden and tour the grounds with Chelsea Flower Show gold winner Leon Kluge. But the real moment will come when the Princess Royal plants a Princess Anne rose in the residence garden to symbolise her visit. While there, the royal will also meet with English Test cricketer turned photographer Nick Compton.
