Scott Phillips, manager of the Rose and Crown team, said several people immediately rang for an ambulance and were stunned to be told after more than an hour that one had not been sent - because it was not a life- threatening injury.

When officers arrived the man started fighting with others inside the pub. He was ejected and the disturbance spilled out on to the street. His shoulder was dislocated and he is expected to be off work until after Christmas.
