Between them, they have a wide range of backgrounds and experience from both the public and private sectors. Margaret joined us in October taking up the role of Chief Operating Officer. She has a substantial track record in the social housing sector, most recently as CEO at Lewisham Homes from She oversees all our customer-facing services including the repairs team, customer experience, neighbourhoods, lettings, tenancy support, place shaping, and is our designated Health and Safety lead.
Margaret also has responsibility over our compliance with the consumer standards. Margaret is a qualified accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. An influential leader with a proven track record of delivery, Margaret has an absolute commitment to delivering for our customers and engaging teams to achieve organisational goals.
Responsible for maintaining our financial strength and sound governance, Duncan, Chief Finance Officer, makes sure our development plans are fully funded and our technology helps us deliver our services and ambitions. He previously spent six years with KPMG where he provided financial planning and risk management services to some high-profile clients before moving into the housing sector.
Tom is our Executive Director of Assets and Sustainability. He brings a wealth of experience gained from over 30 years in property and construction. He has worked in a variety of organisations delivering design, development and construction services. His track record of driving transformation and improvement in customer-centric organisations will prove valuable. Tristan is a Chartered Surveyor, with over 25 years of property experience in both the private and public sectors.
He has previously held 2 non-executive director roles in the housing sector, for Dolphin Living and Westminster Community Homes. And most recently, Tristan has been active across the Solent region, supporting an economic growth and strategic planning agenda. He specialises in change management, and business transformation and has worked across all HR disciplines. Although these are all very different, he sees them having a joint responsibility for challenging the business, in a positive way, and helping to drive change and business improvement.
