Housing is guaranteed for two years for first-year undergraduate students and one year for transfer students. Students must apply by the housing application deadline to secure their spot. Virtual Tour. A meal plan is mandatory because residence halls do not have kitchen facilities that allow all students to cook meals on a regular basis. Students can select an all-you-care-to-eat meal plan that meets their weekly dietary needs. UC Merced Dining Services provides several options for students who choose to eat a vegetarian, vegan or gluten-sensitive diet and strives to ensure that students with special dietary needs can safely dine in our facilities.
