My mates and I go on a trip every year to different Eastern European cities and I can honestly say that Krackow is the most miserable city I have ever visited. You've obviously never been to Edinburgh. I was in Krakow last year. It's the epitome of a God fearing Catholic country. I ended up setting my sights on vanilla tourism, featuring a wide variety of beers, an excursion in a Trabant run by Crazy Guides to Nowa Huta, a City tour on a Segways, and more beers in the evenings.
Have to say, book up for the coaches to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines well in advance. They are very popular, and also well worth going to. A year or so ago, our local news on tv were interviewing a couple of British single guys who were working as bus drivers in Poland. The interviewer was asking them, why they were doing this, due to the fact that the wages were a lot less.
