We had booked a private double room. It is located on the fifth floor no lift. The room comprises of a double bed, a low table with two stools, and a shower room. There are coat hooks by the entrance we had brought coat hangers and two bins. The windows are double glazed, although the one in the bathroom does not close properly.
There are thick curtains in the bedroom which keep the light out when needed. As it's a busy street, the noise from the street below is noticeable, and because the hostel is close to the fire station, there are often some sirens. We can also hear when the other guests open their doors, which are very creaky. So to be fair, our sleep has been disturbed a few times, but it comes with being in Paris - the same happened to me in the past when I stayed at some friends' places.
The room came with two towels one medium, one large and two small bottles of shower gel. There was also a large toilet roll. The two bins have been emptied daily. There are enough power plugs to charge our devices, and free wi-fi. The floor felt somewhat sticky we had brought flip flops , but the bed and bathroom were clean the shower room is rather dated but the bed is comfortable. People had complained about the bleach smell in previous reviews so. The bedroom door opens with a card, which needs to be reactivated each time you come in, as the metro can interfere with it.
The staff happily does it in a few seconds, as they welcome you in each time. The hostel also has a kitchen if you want to cook, but we haven't tried it. The bar on the ground floor seems to have a good selection of drinks.
