The Games Society at the University of Plymouth has existed since before the university has, largely because of our broad range of members. But what do we mean by table-top games? We have four different room captains overseeing our four categories although members tend to float between several. Second, Board Games, which boasts a wide and ever-increasing array of games from Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride to Betrayal at the House on the Hill see the list of Board and Card games available below.
Finally, role-playing games are one of the most popular sections of our society, with most people starting in Dungeons and Dragons games and eventually graduating to systems like Kids on Bikes, Lancer or even their own homebrewed ideas.
All groups are delighted to have a chance to teach their well-honed skills to newcomers, and many are happy to lend their resources miniatures, card packs, dice to those who are just starting out.
On Wednesdays from 6pm to 10pm, and on Sundays from midday to 10pm, we book out several rooms in Rolle to play games in. For roleplaying groups, we book out a variety of small rooms for roleplaying groups to use , and on Wednesdays and , , and on Sundays. Each category has their own large room to meet up in, and people who are interested in several things can float between them comfortably.
Our Roleplaying Games Captain aims to run a day full of one-shots short campaigns at least once per term, and Game Master Pitches are held once or twice a year โ an event in which people running long-form campaigns pitch a variety of ideas to a room full of prospective players, allowing people find the campaign that suits them the most.
