The Hammam The Kachachine is in the heart of the medina, one of the souk booksellers. It is easily recognizable by its doors that are painted with stripes of black, green and red. This is one of the most famous Turkish baths in the ancient city, dating from the Ottoman period. The Turkish bath is a complete ritual where hygiene is combined with relaxation. Similar to the Roman baths, going through different kinds of sauna rooms where the temperature is variable, it is amazing to see how people rub the body vigorously with horsehair gloves for a complete exfoliation of the skin.
