Our tea parties are free monthly social groups open to people aged 75 and over who are lonely, isolated or in need of companionship. Once a month, on a Sunday, volunteer drivers collect older guests from their homes and take them to the tea party where between 10 and 15 older guests and volunteers share tea, cake, and companionship, and enjoy a change of scenery for an afternoon.
At the end of the tea party the volunteer drivers take the older guests safely back home. They should also be able to manage their own personal needs, such as using the bathroom without assistance. What a difference it's made to me, being part of a social group again. I'm not nearly so lonely now. I really love the company. If I had the chance, I would go every day. We do have some great alternative options though, so please try searching again or consider volunteering for or joining one of our remote services.
