Oscillant entre chaos, ordre et ornement. The proposed soundtrack is sourced from a mix of five television channels selected by the photographer. To do this, he filmedhimself along with a number of acquaintances living abroad, from Switzerland to Chile and Spain. The intimacy of the sequences is heightened by virtue of the protagonists being naked, allowing theirskin to reflect the colours emitted by the screen.
Out of aestheticism and a desire for authenticity, the photographer ruled out the possibility of enhancing the resolution of the sequences. Thus the spectator is perceiving this unique entity in an extremely intimate moment β an intimacy that tends towards the tragic, given the isolation that surrounds him. The themeof time also enters the mix: this work was realised over several years. Several times over a period of three years, Tamara Eckhardt visited St.
Because of its geographical location, the housing estate is largely isolated from the surrounding town. Nevertheless, a strong community spirit prevails; everyone knows each other and they are fiercely loyal, though also defensive and mistrustful of outsiders. During her visits Eckhardt gradually formed bonds with the young people of St. Her series of photographs that focus on the theme of childhood and growing up presents a sympathetic portrait of their daily lives.
It addresses a certain lack of perspective that children growing up under difficult circumstances, struggling with prejudice, have. Youth of the Island Field is a visual testimony to their ability to adapt and to find ways to enjoy themselves. Eva-Maria Raab is interested in new technologies and in individual and collective modes of representation.
The project addresses how a homogeneous symbol can be individualized to shake up everyday life. Here everything is ice without respite, and one is led to think about what extremes can produce in human beings. In a world tour of a planet where half the population lives in cities, Steeve Iuncker is seeking out the cities of extremes, from the lowest city, to the most polluted, to the most populated. Yakutsk, the coldest city in the world, is the first subject in this new project.
