A simple, straightforward question My family has been attending the annual rendezvous at Fort des Chartres in Illinois for about 25 years, but we have had to miss the last few due to being out of the area when it is held. So, I have not had a chance to ask one of the participants about the music that is played since I have gotten back into playing music.
Does anyone know what the type of music is called that is played at these events - not the military groups but the French Colonial jigs and reels as best as I can describe it? And, I assume that this type of music would be available in sheet music form somewhere in computerland? I can't google stuff if I don't know what it is called, so I would appreciate any assistance.
