The Douglas County Attorney said members of a possible sex trafficking operation are now facing charges. Court documents said police were called to the AmericInn near 13th and Spring streets on Jan.
Police said two juveniles, 15 and 16 years old, were seen in the hotel related to the theft. The minors were taken to Project Harmony to be interviewed, and during that process, it was found they were transported from Denver to Omaha multiple times. According to court documents, the juveniles were brought to Omaha by Eduardo Perdomo, 26, and Alfredo Zambrano-Hurtado, 24, for the purpose of selling them for sex. They got a hotel room for them and placed an ad on a website.
The investigation yielded some phone numbers for police to call, and when officers called the numbers, court records showed that three men, later identified as year-old Vishal Goswami, year-old Kavankumar Patel, and year-old Sumit Chaudhari, offered the officers two juvenile girls for the purpose of sex. The affidavit said all of the phone numbers were found on the website that is used for commercial sex. On Jan. Perdomo and Zambrano-Hurtado were taken into custody for questioning.
Court records said Perdomo admitted to transporting juveniles for the purpose of sex and Zambrano-Hurtado made "incriminating remarks. An officer attempted a traffic stop near 99th and Q streets for a traffic violation, according to court documents. It was found that the car belonged to Martinez-Gonzalez. Reports indicate she failed to yield, and eventually, the officer stopped pursuing her and let Homeland Security Investigation continue to follow her. HSI continued to follow Martinez-Gonzalez to a gas station, where she was taken into custody for questioning.
Court documents said Martinez-Gonzalez admitted to communicating with buyers and taking half of the money made. In court on Thursday, prosecutors accused Perdomo of taking sexually explicit photos of the girls. Some of those photos were posted online and were in his phone. It was revealed during Thursday's court proceedings that Martinez-Gonzalez is a citizen of Columbia and is here illegally.
