Peaceful, calm, tranquilβ¦ These words describe the ambience at Serenity Spa. Tucked away in an unassuming house on the UN Crescent with a beautiful garden, it provides a much needed relaxed atmosphere. My therapist, Ferishina, quickly produced a warm towel for my face and a wonderfully zingy, crisp citrus shot. As I was sipping my shot I noticed other clients milling around the reception area. From older gentlemen in their 60s waiting for a massage, a middle aged man buying a gift for his wife, to the young, fabulous and trendy waiting for a nail art manicure.
I was then led up to my room through various dimly lit corridors filled with soothing music to coerce you to turn your mind off. Part one of the treatment was a body scrub made from natural sea salt infused with grapefruit and geranium. Applied by your therapist using soothing strokes all over your body, it not only removes the dead skin but also promotes lymphatic drainage and stimulates weight loss.
The bed underneath you is heated encouraging you to further sweat out the toxins. Once done, not only was my skin supple, smooth and glowing, I also felt lighter! A shower was then swiftly undertaken before the next part of the package. The Serenity Massage, a signature massage using rose quartz crystals and amethyst crystals. This massage focuses on your tired and aching muscles, and also looks to release energy blockages in your chakras to clear your emotional aches as well.
To start with, amethyst crystals are placed on your energy centres to release them, while the rest of your body is gently heated using the rose quartz crystals and your muscles are steadily massaged.
