A convicted sex offender who raped a teenager under the football stands at Redondo Union High School in was found guilty Thursday of sexually assaulting an exotic dancer in a Torrance home while pretending to be an undercover police officer, prosecutors said.
Following a weeklong trial, jurors quickly found Dietz guilty of rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration with a foreign object, rape by threat to arrest or deport, oral copulation under threat to arrest and sexual penetration under threat to arrest. Dietz was arrested on Aug.
Earlier that day, Dietz found the woman on a website and invited her to a Torrance residence. He pulled a badge and handcuffs, told her he was an undercover police officer and sexually assaulted her under the threat of arrest, Deputy District Attorney Frank Dunnick said. The woman escaped and contacted police, but police could not locate Dietz.
He fled at speeds reaching mph, but eventually was located and arrested. He was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender.
