I have a confession to make: I used to like Elena Gilbert. But that affection has long since died. The thing about ENFPs is when we like someone, we purposefully ignore all their faults. My moment of clarity happened when Elena decided to kill off an Original. That means if someone figured out how to kill Klaus, Katherine, Damon, Stefan, and precious Elena would all die. Caroline repeatedly warns her off Damon because she has experience with Damon, who compelled, controlled, and abused her, used her as a human blood bag, and tried to kill her at least twice.
His family? That was the Elena I liked, the Elena of the first few seasons. The Elena that Elijah looked into and saw the goodness of her heart. Yes, Elena, Elijah. Remember him? The one who did anything and everything he had to, to protect his family, but had the decency to feel remorse in threatening your life to get what he wanted.
That Elijah. Elena Gilbert honestly thinks that everything should be about her. She thinks every problem should be fixed on her say. I want all those bloody vampires dead. And as for Elena the character, not the actress.
From the get go she got on my nerves. She knew the truth about vampires and the dangers they posed to her family and friends and she did nothing to warn anybody or protect anyone, including her brother who was murdereed by Damon because he was upset. She also keeps coming up with hare-brained ideas and then ends up making deals that ruin the lives of her friends and family or kill innocent people. And why would anyone ask her to keep any secrets?
I am on season 5. Elena is my least favorite character. She is so annoying, judgmental and whiny. She judges Stefan for sleeping with Katherine but yet chooses Damon who is just as bad as Katherine. I agree so glad they got rid of her could have done without her after a season or 2. Bring Tyler Lockwood back also and as a hybrid revive him somehow. Best character. I am just getting to season 3 and I feel so annoyed with her that I wish they would just do away with her character.
