I have been experimenting lately with different recording distances and settings for my mouthpiece reviews. Usually, I record dry with no effects about 2 feet from the microphone. I have my own opinions but I thought it would be interesting to open it up to all of you to see what you think. If you want to add additional insights or thoughts, feel free to in the comment section below.
Thanks for your help and input, Steve. Steve Neff has been playing and teaching saxophone and jazz improvisation around the New England area for over 30 years. He is the author of many best selling jazz improvisation methods as well as founding the popular jazz video lesson site Neffmusic.
Walter, they should be playing now. I had an issue with the player this morning but I think it is fixed……….. We have 5 votes so far and they are all different………I was hoping everyone would vote the same……….. Oh well………….. Btw, nothing harsh, shrill, or too edgy about that. Some quality tenor sound on there, sounds good to me.
I think the best sound would be a very subtle combination of the two. Your email address will not be published. Notify me of followup comments via e-mail. You can also subscribe without commenting.
